Mediciti School of Nursing

MediCiti School of Nursing was started in July 1995. It is recognized by the Andhra Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council and by the Indian Nursing council. It offers a three-year course for diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery. Sixty students are admitted each year. All the prescriptions of INC, in terms of infrastructure and faculty are available in the school and regularly upgraded from time to time. The training is designed to prepare students to practice professional nursing in advanced tertiary health care centers as well as rural community health programs. After graduation the students work as staff nurses for two years at MediCiti hospitals.

In Pursuance of the objectives in the area of education in medical and health allied sciences, a concrete step has been taken by establishing the Mediciti School of Nursing.

Aims And Objectives of the school

Mediciti will train nurses so that they would be competent to undertake responsibilities to perform comprehensive nursing care as follows:

Demonstrate awareness of skill required in the nursing process in the provision of health care and nursing of patients. They will be competent to

  • Assess the nursing needs of individuals, families and communities throughout life, from birth to death
  • Plan appropriate action to meet their needs through competent and safe nursing care
  • Work with other members of the health team and the community in promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and rehabilitation
  • Evaluation effectiveness of nursing and health care activities

    Apply relevant knowledge from the humanities, biological and behavioural sciences in carrying out health care and nursing activities

    Show sensitivity and skill in human relationships and communication in her daily work

    Demonstrate skill in the use of problem solving methods in nursing practice

    Gain Knowledge of health resources in the community and the country

    Demonstrate leadership skills in working with the health team, community and others, in the provision of health care

    Admission Procedure and Duration of the Course

    Admission is open to female candidates of all castes, creeds and religion from all parts of India provided they meet the basic requirements

    The course of training in general nursing and advance grade Midwifery extends over a period 3 ½ years leading to an “A” Grade nursing certificate

    ima Candidates are admitted once a year, the timings of which will be published in the leading news papers
    ima Prospectus and application from can be obtained from MediCiti School of Nursing on payment of Rs 100/- by cash or D D payable at Hyderabad
    ima The duly filled in application form can be submitted on payment of Rs 200/- (non-refundable) as registration fee, by cash or DD payable at Hyderabad, along with other relevant testimonials

    Basic Requirements

    ima The minimum educational qualification required is Intermediate pass or its equivalent (10+2) with Science subjects preferably
    ima Single women of good character and sound health, between the age of 17 to 22 years are accepted
    ima Physical fitness must be ensured by certificate from a registered medical practitioner
    ima Good knowledge of English is essential and candidates must be prepared to learn Telugu
    ima

    The completed application form should be supported with the following: (Photocopies)

    • Intermediate pass certificate, or its equivalent
    • The marks obtained in intermediate or its equivalent
    • Conduct certificate from the Principal of the college last attended
    • Certificate of any other educational qualification if she possesses
    • Certificate of physical fitness from a registered medical practitioner
    • Two copies of recent passport size photographs
    • A covering letter in candidate own handwriting with the list of enclosures

    NOTE: No original certificates should be sent along with the application form. Receipt of an application form does not imply acceptance of the candidate for training.
